The weirdest thing about the subplot of the white protestors bawling out the deputy sheriff for being a traitor and saying “you should be with us” is it turns out they kind of accidentally have a point in the end.
gotta say, people saying the left is depicted as worse than the right in Eddington is strange. yeah the BLM protesters are portrayed as annoying/focused on appearing good rather than being good, and the elected dems are corrupt… meanwhile every rw person in the film is a psycho
I think this is basically true but the last hour is so utterly bizarre it seems message free
I do think Eddington hones in on the uncomfortable reality that if you don't have a clear ideology and you're an opportunist, you can kinda latch onto anything. I don't think that's a centrist take, we've seen this all the time
