Y'all, I WANT the Southside Beltline to get good transit. That's always been true. By stalling transit on the Eastside Beltline, however, he's putting the ENTIRE network at risk. How can we trust future routes, when he won't do what's right in front of him? @beltlinerailnow

In the wider conversation around the streetcar and Beltline rail, I want to remind folks that this is what we are talking about: A corridor explicitly planned, designed, built, and developed for light rail, now left waiting for service despite being immediately ready for it.

I guess we'll see if this opens us for improvements... hopefully? The agency has a LOT of room for improvement...
BREAKING: MARTA CEO Collie Greenwood is officially retiring. The MARTA Board has just voted to accept the early termination of his contract due to "immigration and personal matters." Rhonda Allen, MARTA's Chief Customer Experience Officer, has been named as interim.
West Midtown desperately needs better transit. Not more parking, not more lanes... actual transit. Crosstown Streetcars would help. Core BRT and frequent buses would additionally help. Regional Rail could even help, with local stations.
On June 28, a summit involving neighborhood stakeholders revealed that the story behind the restaurant closures on Atlanta’s west side is much more complicated than pricey parking fees and congestion. roughdraftatlanta.com/2025/07/14/wes…
When this is the level of response you get for trying to explain why Beltline rail is a good idea, it's hard to come away with any other conclusion than that the opposition is simply ignorant and spiteful. It really is quite sad.

It's hilarious when someone is claiming that crime is outrageous and you will be shot for going to a certain city... And then try to us Buckhead, of all fucking places, as an example. Really just puts their insane lack of perspective on full display.
Look how Buckhead has turned out, back when I went to Buckhead nothing happened, time's have changed ( for the worse).
Another @ajcprr done, another year desperately wishing there was Beltline rail to help handle the thousands and thousands of people finishing, rather than making people walk allllll the way up the hill to Midtown station.

Idea: Take the shutdown as an opportunity! Reinvent the streetcar to come out the gate ready to run better, faster, more efficently! There are plenty of low-cost, quick-build improvements that can be installed during the shutdown, and would help speed things up after reopening.
The streetcar will be shut down for at least four months for unrelated utility work by GA Power & Watershed Mgmt. ajc.com/news/2025/06/d… Preventative maintenance is good, but you have to wonder if these needs could've been detected & addressed during streetcar construction.
Hello we hope we get to see you next week in Inman Park for a good night of transit topics and mingling for the 2nd quarter.. Ref: bit.ly/Let's-Talk-Tra…
If we're doing this 'again' I can't help but wonder if maybe, just maybe, it didn't actually work the first time? Or at least didn't work on its own. Maybe we should learn from that, and start expanding out means and methods a bit?
ICYMI: In recent years, the City of Atlanta has become known for what some call gentrification and displacement of legacy residents. Now, the City is again looking to bring some relief to senior resident homeowners facing rising property taxes. buff.ly/S2vEYq9
