80 years ago today 7 Czechoslovak parachutists were killed after a six hour battle with 800 Waffen SS troops at the church of St Cyril and Methodius in Prague. The men were hiding out there after two of their number – Gabčík and Kubiš – had killed the Nazi ‘Protector’ Heydrich.
