Get in the boat, lads, and listen to @YourselfReview and me talking about the #RonHoward film #InTheHeartOfTheSea - but don't forget to bring some food: it's a long and harrowing journey. open.spotify.com/episode/4u02Mt…

#Superman: A clear and optimistic love letter not only to the legacy of DC, but to the fans as well. After a pretty front-loaded opening, it truly takes off, boasting wonderful performances, creative action and a dynamic style. Not recommend to total newcomers, though.
Superman has ALWAYS been an immigrant story. Just because previous adaptations didn't make that more overt doesn't mean we should never see that happen. #SupermanMovie #Superman #JamesGunn

Meine Besprechung zur Musik des #HowToTrainYourDragon-Remakes, abermals komponiert von #JohnPowell. scoregeek.wordpress.com/2025/06/24/how…
My ★★½ review of How to Train Your Dragon (2025) on @letterboxd: boxd.it/a3qK51
#BallerinaMovie: Solid flick that is light on story, but heavy on explosive action and crunchy stunts. Keanu Reeves is in it more than I thought he would be, but Ana de Armas gets a lot of fun stuff to do, even though her character is missing that certain spark.
#HowToTrainYourDragon: Does the story still work? Sure! Does the cast have charme? Absolutely! Does the score still soar? YEAH! But even though this remake is well produced, there is that feeling about it which just feels off, very uncanny valley-ish. Make of that what you will…
My ★★½ review of The Lone Ranger (2013) on @letterboxd: boxd.it/9X3NfN
#PredatorKillerOfKillers: 3 animated stories, each with a different feel, but all very dynamic and brutal (the Japan episode being my favorite), culminating in a really neat expansion of the Predator universe. More of creative stuff like this, please!
