Why did LaLiga implement Economic Cost Controls in 2013? Crippling public debt, 1/2 the league near bankruptcy after recession, record levels of unpaid wages. 8 years after ECCs: -Public debt ↘️ from €650m to €23m -Combined equity 🆙250% -Unpaid wages ↘️ from €89m to €1.5m
Only preseason and I’m already hyped about watching this Moleiro + Pino + Ayoze connection all season. 😍😍
I made this comment in our Liga GC yesterday. 😄 I said Barcelona would announce a new signing within a week, in part hoping to distract & have fans not talking about the stadium delays & Laporta's dishonesty. 24 hours later, ha. Some things are just easy to predict. 😆

Jese back to Las Palmas? 3rd time's a charm?

Hancko, not Veiga then. Baena Cardoso Rugerri Almada Lenglet Pubill Hancko Atleti will have covered all their major gaps in 2 summers. Not bad for a club of their size. How do you rate & rank their summer transfer window, Atleti/Liga fans?
Acuerdo con el Feyenoord para el traspaso de Dávid Hancko. El defensa internacional eslovaco firmará su nuevo contrato una vez supere el pertinente reconocimiento médico. ➡️ loom.ly/PrtL3UQ
Perez & Madrid hit far more than they miss in the transfer market. That's why it's interesting that they had 4 misses in 2019 (Hazard, Jovic, Reinier, Brahim) Rare to have 4 in a single year, plus Odriozola & Mariano the prior summer. That's €285+m worth of misses.
🚨 Xabi Alonso has made it clear to Brahím Díaz that he will still NOT have a spot in Real Madrid's starting XI. — @marca
Atleti is prob stuck w/Lemar unless they cancel his contract like w/Saul, yea? The 2010s were marked by 2 things for 🇪🇸 clubs: 1. Historic success in Europe 2. Bloated wages that mitigated historic profits Sevilla & Barcelona fans understand as well as Atleti's, ofc.
i wonder if theyll find a solution to Lemar
2 years ago, Atleti finished 4th for the 1st time under Simeone after not reinforcing the squad for yrs. Over the last 2 summers, they've spent €300m on 11+ players. Further cements their place as Spain's 3rd club. They're not close to the big 2, no one else is close to them.
Year 2 of Atleti's rebuild is fully on, matching the broader Covid recovery timeline I predicted years ago. IN: Baena Cardoso Rugerri Almada Lenglet Pubill OUT: Witsel Apzi Correa Reinildo Roro Saul RdP Molina? CBs next?

🚨🔴⚪️ Atlético Madrid have hijacked Marc Pubill deal and agreement has been reached with Wolves, here we go! 💣 Atléti closed the deal this afternoon after fast negotiations with Almería, all the documents are signed. Five year contract for Pubill.
Liga fans: If you had to rebuild your team from scratch with only 3 current players, which players would you build around? Only 3 from your team. Who ya taking? 🙋🏽♂️

Nico renewal done Areso done Laporte soon? Great summer from Athletic, yea?
Athletic signing Jesus Areso from Osasuna for €10 million with variables that could increase the price to €12 million. Areso will sign a 6 year contract and announcement is expected tomorrow.
VAR rights, CEO of Mediapro, VP of ref committee vs League president, RFEF president, Head of AI at CTA It's amusing how those with the most influence often cry victim the loudest. +Amusing how we're more understanding of and willing to assume the best of our own guys. 😁
Vivian & Laporte in front of Simon? Y'all...
🚨🔴⚪️ EXCL: Athletic Club made first verbal proposal to Al Nassr today for Aymeric Laporte. Laporte, out of Al Nassr project at this stage with Athletic Club pushing to make it happen.
Pedri needs to leave Barcelona for Villarreal to complete the set. 👀🤞🏽😉
😉 The 💛🇮🇨 Connection 🤩
Liga fans, 2 questions for you. 1. What were your team’s 3 biggest squad needs headed into the summer? 2. Has your team addressed them so far? Long way to go, of course.

Oblak Courtois Tthese 2 are the only undisputed top-tier keepers in La Liga over the last decade, yea? This isn't all that debatable, is it (apart from heavy fanboy or rival bias)? Many keepers have had stellar seasons, but only these 2 have had so many, consistently.

The Covid recession was a market correction for transfer fees, but I doubt it'll last. No other league ever has, can, or will compete with the Prem's revenue. I expect other leagues' elite teams to return to overspending before too long. Some of it is already happening w/wages.
This is INSANE 😳
One of the most influential, course-altering figures in modern football. Love or hate him, Perez’s impact on the marketing & business side of football is hard to overstate.
✨ Today marks the 25th anniversary of Florentino Pérez's appointment as Real Madrid president. #RealMadrid
