Today is Nelson Mandela International Day in honor of Nelson Mandela, the civil rights activist, reformer & former president of South Africa. The purpose of the day is to honor Mandela's legacy & values, including his resistance to apartheid and his support for social justice.

Join us in commemorating the birthday of Miriam Wallace “Ma” Ferguson, born on this day in 1875. Miriam was the 1st woman elected as Governor of Texas.
