11 Members of our roster made the Academic All-Conference team. To be eligible for the team, you must have achieved a 3.3 GPA and competed in at least 50% of contests. Congratulations to these 11 young men on this achievement and to all other LU student athletes!

An interesting fact about LU Hall of Famer Dick Miller ... He also played for the Oshkosh All-Stars in what was the forerunner of the NBA. Told the LU SID that he gave up pro basketball because he couldn't make enough money doing it. Oh, how times have changed!
Throwback to the Vikings ending an 18 year championship drought. The Vikings had a near undefeated year in conference play in 1942-43 to win the Championship. The team was coached by Ray Hamann and led by Dick Miller who averaged 19 P in his last 6 games and Captain Bill Crossett

That game was played in the original Alexander Gym, which was located on the north bank of the Fox River. That gym also was the site of the first high school basketball state tournament in the nation back in 1905!
Can you believe? Our Lawrence University Vikings held the UW-Whitewater Warhawks to the fewest point total in Lawrence history with...1 point. The game took place in 1915 when the Vikings won the contest 51-1.

Did you know? On 11/25/78 the Vikings took on the Sycamores. Nearly 9,000 fans saw the Sycamores led by Birds 25 points and Carl's 27 points beat the Vikings, 99-56, who were led by Mike Fogel with 18P & 6R and Rob Cohen with 8P & 7R. Indiana State ended up 33-1.



Happy birthday to Junior Nicholas Gouriotis! Nicholas had a career high in points against Beloit with 25 as he went 5/10 from 3! Have a great day Nic, and let's have a great year next year!


It was senior night in 2014 facing Lake Forest. They honored seven seniors that night, however, one shined the brightest that day. That being Chris Siebert. he led the Vikings to a 84-76 win with 22 points!
