Congratulations to the team of riders from Orleans Primary who cycled from the school to Paris. They are aiming to raise £30k for Skylarks and OPPTA. It was great to join all of the pupils to wave them off and wish them 'bon chance'

I wish Andrew Duncan a very happy retirement! Andrew has been the chauffeur and macebearer in Richmond for 10 years and has served successive Mayors with distinction. Thank you for your efforts Andrew and enjoy the next chapter.

With the re-affirmation at York House completed we all joined the European Youth Orchestra @LandmarkArts where we were treated to a first class concert, I thank the young people, their talent & commitment to to European ideal. Amazing programme to a packed house, well done! Thanks

Our European guests were hosted by The Leader, Cllr Gareth Roberts at York House for a working breakfast where @ThamesLandscape ‘s Jason Debney gave enlightening presentation about how we are going to learn to ‘live wet’, clearly there was much more to his thought provoking talk!

The twinning re-affirmation weekend got off to a great start with a reception @Orleanshg where I welcomed our guests from Fountainebleu & Konstanz for what’s going to be a fabulous series of events, continuing our association with European friends.

It was so wonderful to see our borough primary schools competing @StMarysU sports field in the annual sports day. I was joined by @AforChildren Dir Education Services Charis Penfold to present prizes to the great children. Adrian Corke & his fantastic team did an excellent job!

I was so pleased & honoured to be invited to a ‘Twinning Re-Affirmation Assembly’ at the Old Vicarage School in Richmond today. The children were fantastic, dressed in European themed outfits, they were so engaged with the European ideal, writing letters to our twinned cities.

We all gathered in the foyer of Richmond railway station to officially unveil the Re-affirmation sign that now adorns the booking hall. With the refurbishment nearing an end the art deco inspired artwork compliments other features to enhance the area. Thanks to REA & SW Trains.
