My uncle just missed getting drafted into Vietnam. One of his buddies, who did get drafted, had a ‘68 Mustang. Dude never came back from the war. “Crappy Cars” used to hit differently.
It's good to have a crappy car when you are 16 - 20. Whenever I saw someone with a really nice car and they were 19 I always assumed they had some oddly strained relationship with their divorced parents who were competing for their child's love through things.
