The IPD is hiring a new Assistant to the Director! This role provides complex administrative support to IPD leadership and is crucial to keeping operations running. Apply today! bit.ly/4kyguvn
Congrats on graduating Priya! After working in the lab for 3 years on vaccine adjuvants targeting the CD40 signaling pathway in germinal centers, she earned a Distinguished Researcher in Biochemistry award! Now she's off to work on flu vaccines at NIAID’s Vaccine Research Center.

🚨 new paper alert 🚨 Here, we designed, characterized, and evaluated >100 #malaria vaccines built on our two-component nanoparticle platform! This collaborative project was led by Dr. Mark Langowski and is out now in npj Vaccines: bit.ly/3Gk37B2
There's a new doctor in town, Cameron Criswell defended her PhD thesis last week! 🥳 Congratulations on all your hard work Dr. Criswell!

Our very own Grace Hendricks gave an excellent talk about her work on mRNA-launched nanoparticles at the Keystone Symposium on Vaccinology in Washington, DC today!

On Monday, the lab celebrated "Cinco de Cara" in honor of @chao_cara successfully defending her PhD thesis! 🥂 In addition to making MERS vaccines, Cara is a beloved member of the lab who often shares tasty baked goods and infectious laughter. Congratulations, Dr. Chao!

The IPD is hiring a new Executive Director! This senior leadership role guides institutional strategy, builds research partnerships, drives fundraising, and directs operations at the world’s top center for computational protein design. Apply today! bit.ly/3Z99PA1
Thanks to Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, more than 1 billion children have been immunized against the world’s deadliest diseases, like tuberculosis and malaria. Now the U.S. government is reportedly planning to end its support for Gavi—support that’s been critical to this progress…
Congratulations to Dr. Marti Tooley! 🍾 On Tuesday, Marti defended her PhD thesis, a real tour de force of protein design and immunology. We are SO proud of Marti and very grateful for the crucial role she has played in cultivating such a welcoming lab culture. Cheers! 🥂

Hard to believe it has already been three weeks since Naveen defended his PhD thesis!! 🥳 To celebrate, the lab visited a nearby farm for some quality time with baby goats and highland cows🐐🐮

The IPD is hiring an Assistant Director to help us match our scientific excellence with operational excellence. If you are a science-loving, hard-working, organized, responsible leader, come join us! bit.ly/4gUVMnO We'll soon have a separate posting for an Executive Dir.
Now online and just in time for WRCon! It was a great journey with a fantastic team across boarders that survived several moves. A big thank you to all involved, and a special shoutout to Neil @KingLabIPD and the @akhmelinlab 🧵 to come…
New online! Local structural flexibility drives oligomorphism in computationally designed protein assemblies bit.ly/4kiM6WW
The peer-reviewed version of Chloe's manuscript is now online @NatureComms! Check it out here: rdcu.be/d8dij.
Protein-based agonists generated from our de novo protein minibinder pipeline bind to human #TLR3 with nanomolar affinities. This collaborative project was led by recently graduated Dr. Chloe Adams and is out now on @biorxivpreprint: biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
The peer-reviewed version of @chao_cara's manuscript is now online @CellReports, now featuring even more in vivo data! Check it out below: bit.ly/4gCN9P4
#MERS vaccines built on our two-component protein nanoparticle platform induce robust neutralizing antibody responses and protect mice against vaccine-matched challenge. This collaborative project was led by @chao_cara and is out now on @biorxivpreprint: biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
In new study, we measure how all mutations to rabies G affect cell entry & antibody neutralization Sheds light on constraints on type III fusion proteins, suggests ways to stabilize G antigens, and quantifies antibody robustness to rabies variation biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
Huge congratulations to freshly minted, Dr. Mark Langowski! 🍾 On Tuesday, Mark defended his thesis entitled "Computational Design of Vaccines against Plasmodium falciparum Malaria." Mark is a scientific powerhouse, and we are so incredibly proud of him!
