New York Gov. Kathy Hochul on GOP's "Big Beautiful Bill" impacts on the state: "The human toll of this is beyond unconscionable.”
The Wednesday meeting in DC offered @ZohranKMamdani a chance to share with national Democrats details on his winning campaign and communications strategy. It also gave those Democrats a chance to take his measure. #NYC ny1.com/nyc/all-boroug…
NY lawmakers cast doubt Tuesday the Leg needs a special session address federal cuts in President Trump's tax reform law. @LizKrueger said a special session isn't necessary now & expects $$ from reserves will be used to fill $750M gap this fiscal year. nystateofpolitics.com/state-of-polit…
Exchange between @RepJerryNadler and @SecDuffy on NYC Subway safety Nadler: "Why do you continue ignore this and lie about this…?" Duffy: "Why do you continue to lie about people being lit on fire in subways or pushed in front of trains?" Nadler: "Our subways are safe."
Across New York, local PBS and NPR stations count on federal dollars from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting — some (particularly in smaller, more rural communities) more than others. This week, Trump-backed legislation is pending in Congress to claw back $$ from CPB.
