As we celebrate America's 249th birthday, I think we need a Declaration of Resistance. Because it is all one fight. I explain in this week's ICYMI Statehouse Edition. Happy Independence Day.
2 weeks ago I represented the Ohio General Assembly at the Steel Beam Topping Off ceremony of the new @ClevelandClinic Global Peak Performance Center done in partnership with the @cavs. I signed the beam above the C, and got a shout out from Cavs Pres of Bball Ops, Koby Altman.

Leila Atassi: "If Democrats won’t summon the courage to rise to this moment... likely, they’ll be held responsible for everything that followed, for every freedom lost, every injustice unchecked, every door closed to the people they were elected to serve." cleveland.com/opinion/2025/0…
Since Ohio delivered $600 million to the Browns, we've learned the Haslams: - Sold 10 percent of the Crew for $90 million - Closed on a $25 million mansion in North Palm Beach, Florida - Donated six- to seven-figures to defeat Boston's progressive mayor w/ a 61% approval rating
Browns owner Jimmy Haslam and his co-conspirator “Sweet Dee,” both of whom, in my opinion, should be in federal prison, are spending hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars to defeat progressive mayor Michelle Wu.
First Off, Glad everyone is OK. ... but another great idea from this team. Cleveland deserves so much better. cleveland.com/browns/2025/07…
The freedom to form a union and negotiate a contract. A fair economy that works for us, not billionaires. A secure life with good benefits and the ability to retire with dignity. This is what America’s unions are fighting for, and will continue to fight for every day. #FFS
Ohio Republican policies are making it harder for younger Ohioans to get ahead. They have created a crisis of affordability for Gen Z and Millennials. Ohio needs to make it easier, not harder, on young families. We explain in this week's ICYMI Statehouse Edition.

Our annual Summer fundraiser is Wednesday night. Help us get a jump on our 2026 competition. No corporate checks please. Thanks for everyone's support.

The budget battle continues in Ohio. Gov. DeWine vetoed more things in this budget than he ever had before, so now Statehouse Republicans want to start overturning those vetos. That's where you come in. It's time to do some work. I explain in this week's ICYMI.
My ICYMI Statehouse Edition video has posted everywhere but Twitter. In the meanwhile, I am about to announce @BurningRiver vs Connecticut Roller Derby.
This morning I joined Docs Beens & Fowler, the @ClevelandAFLCIO, and about 300 others for a protest at @UHhospitals to demand the reinstatement of the fired UH Docs. I support a doctor's right to organize.

Tonight, thanks to @Cleveland_Film, I got to attend the Cleveland premiere of the new @Superman movie. The City of Cleveland is featured throughout the film and much of it was shot in Ohio. It's a great film. Congrats to all involved.

Today I was proud to join the @ClevelandAFLCIO and other elected leaders at a Teamsters Local 507 picket line at the Airgas facility on Warner Road.

Last night Nichole and I were able to take our Moms to see Hamilton. It was a great night and a great show.

The Ohio GOP budget taps into a little known account of unclaimed money to give $600 million to the owners of the Browns to move out of downtown. Some of that money could be yours. We explain and suggest other uses of $600 million that might be better in this week's ICYMI.
