Vancouver has become the first city in Canada to ban gun shaped lighters. These lighters have been a source of public distress and erroneous 911 calls, resulting in numerous dangerous encounters for police. This step will save taxpayers money and make Vancouver a safer city.
Today, City Council approved a ban on the sale of gun-shaped lighters, making Vancouver the 1st city in Canada to do so. Facts: ➡️162 incidents in 2024 alone prompted action. ➡️$1,000 fine for businesses selling them. 🔗 Learn more: bit.ly/3GFOLeJ #PublicSafety
