NEW: City Attorney Hydee Feldstein Soto had to turn over emails, texts and memos about the prosecution of pro-Palestinian protesters this week, after Judge Mark Windham found evidence of biased prosecution against IfNotNow. @SpecNews1SoCal
Working on story about this now -- stop scooping me from Texas, former colleague! -- but this is a massive repudiation of A.G. Rob Bonta, who brought these charges against one of ex-L.A. D.A. George Gascon's highest-ranking advisers in the middle of his re-election campaign.

Diaz has no criminal history. He’s had DACA protection since 2013. He had his real ID in his wallet, but agents took the wallet away I asked DHS why Diaz was arrested and held for week. Their response: “Deferred action does not confer any form of legal status in this country.”
I spent time with Javier Diaz Santana, who is deaf and unable to speak. He was working at a car wash when ICE raided it. Diaz is a DACA recipient, allowing him to live and work in the U.S., but ICE arrested him and held him for weeks in El Paso. latimes.com/california/sto…

Free Anthony Orendorff and all of the street journalists who have been documenting and observing the violence CBP and ICE are carrying out across Los Angeles
Story is coming on this. I spent hours out there this morning. Here’s what I heard. People told me that Border Patrol agents arrived around 7:30 am and were surrounding the Home Depot parking lot, covering all the entrances.
I’m here at the Home Depot on Sunset Boulevard, where people are reporting that several vendors were arrested by immigration agents. I talked to a woman whose dad was taken. She said she’d put in papers two weeks ago to try and get him a U visa.
Joined @KateCagle to talk about immigration raids in Los Angeles led by Border Patrol Chief Gregory Bovino
No more National Guard troops outside the Metropolitan Detention Center downtown. They have all been replaced by CBP and DHS agents following the court order halting the use of the National Guard in L.A.
.@SenAlexPadilla is one of the most decent people I know. This is outrageous, dictatorial, and shameful. Trump and his shock troops are out of control. This must end now.
BREAKING: LAUSD Superintendent Alberto Carvalho says there are currently “federal vans” parked within blocks of two public schools. He did not name which ones. Carvalho - who came to the US undocumented - said “every student has a constitutional right to a public education.”

Detainees inside the LA Federal detention center are flashing their lights for protesters.
Going through footage from today, here’s a still from a flash-bang that landed right at the feet of a protester.
The federal government is moving to take over the California National Guard and deploy 2,000 soldiers. That move is purposefully inflammatory and will only escalate tensions. LA authorities are able to access law enforcement assistance at a moment’s notice. We are in close…
At the ICE raid and subsequent community resistance, this skater kid ate dozens of munitions from Border Patrol agents, walked away slowly and flipped them off.

“This proposal is absolutely insane.” CM Yaroslavsky begins today’s hearing by addressing Trump’s proposed budget.
