Kano Agro-Pastoral Development Project

Under the @KanoPastoral project, we have delivered another set of: 4 Combine Harvesters 1 Combined Rice Mill 2 Tricycle trucks 2 Power Tillers 6 Rice Threshers 69 Water Pumps Assorted Knapsack Sprayers and Simple Planters to beneficiaries in Kano State. funded by @isdb_group #LLF

KSADP, funded by #IsDB & #LLF, through its implementing partners SAA , continues to strengthen agricultural productivity by supporting smallholder farmers in Kano with combine harvesters, rice mills, power tillers, rice threshers, water pumps, tricycle trucks & sprayers.

Funded by #IsDB & #LLF, KSADP, thru' its implementing partners SAA, has continued to support vegetable farmers in Kano with inputs, extension education & technical support towards ensuring enhanced production & minimal post-harvest loss.

To ensure compliance with best practices in food safety, KSADP, funded by #IsDB & #LLF, begins training of 500 youths in Kano on meat & milk processing, hygiene & storage. This will help in minimizing contamination & potential foodborne illnesses in Nigeria’s most populous state.

In furtherance of its capacity building initiatives, KSADP, funded by #IsDB & #LLF, trains local government stock routes committees on the effective management of the stock routes, towards ensuring a more peaceful coexistence between farmers and herders in Kano.

KSADP, funded by #IsDB & #LLF, organizes training for beneficiaries of it’s Bull & Ram Fattening Scheme, to equip them with the knowledge to manage their livestock for optimal weight gain, resulting in a higher profit when sold & improved livelihoods for the livestock fatteners.

Through the KNARDA/KSADP legumes Crop Intervention Programme, funded by #IsDB & #LLF, a mega farmers field day was organized at Gaci, Wudil LGA, to showcase the performance of a new variety of groundnut, Samnut 24 & to share ideas on best practices in legumes farming.

Farmers in Kano express gratitude to KSADP, funded by #IsDB & #LLF for training them on better crop management practices and supporting them with inputs aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity and improving their livelihoods.

As part of an initiative to ensure a sustainable food supply at the household level, KSADP funded by #IsDB & #LLF has continued to support smallholder farmers in Kano with improved seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides, for the 2025 wet season.

KSADP funded by #IsDB & #LLF, engaged stakeholders ahead of commencement of the demarcation, monumentation & gazettement of 1, 950 km stock routes in Kano. This is critical for managing livestock movement, mitigating farmers-herdsmen conflict & facilitating sustainable land use.

KSADP funded by #IsDB & #LLF, trains 1,000 youths in Kano on rice straw utilization skills, to provide feed for ruminants, as part of the overall project objectives to create jobs, alleviate poverty, enhance agric productivity & mitigate farmers-herdsmen conflict.

KSADP, funded by #IsDB & #LLF, has continued to support farmers across Kano State in investing in the legumes value chain (beans, soya bean and groundnut) for food security and income generation.

KSADP meets butchers & other stakeholders in Kano, to finalize plan for management of 20 public slaughter houses, constructed with funds from #IsDB & #LLF, to guarantee the safety of meat, monitor animal diseases & control the spread of zoonotic diseases that impact public health

KSADP, funded by #IsDB & #LLF, continues to support people in Kano with free livestock (Bulls and rams), feeds & medicaments! Bull & ram fattening reduces animal movements thereby fattening them more quickly. Larger animals can be sold for more profit as they yield more meat.

Gov. Abba K. Yusuf of Kano state commissioned the 9km Zarewa – Fulatan – Danguzuri road in Rogo LGA, one of the rural roads constructed by KSADP, funded by #IsDB & #LLF, to facilitate mobility, increase access to markets & services, & promote agricultural productivity.

Through its implementation partners, SAA, KSADP, funded by #ISdb & #LLF, is distributing essential nutrition kits - stainless steel pressure pots, low-energy coal stoves, manual grinders, & pasta makers to 200 women to enhance efficiency & eco-friendliness in food processing.

Kano state governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf flagged-off the state government’s 2nd phase Bull/ram fattening & Goat reproduction empowerment schemes, thru KSADP, funded by #IsDB & #LLF, targeting 5,500 beneficiaries, to reduce poverty & improve nutrition.

Bashir Ahmad is a farmer and Village head of Wasai in Kano state. He is glad that the #IsDB & #LLF project in Kano has constructed the Wasai - Baita road, enabling people in the area to transport their goods to markets, thus, greatly reducing post-harvest losses.
