In the prevailing war narrative, only Israel has agency, only Israel is responsible for bad things, every bad thing asserted against Israel is true, Gazans are helpless victims with no responsibilities, and Hamas is blameless for their suffering. This is what we’re up against.

Reporting over the last year has witnessed a Jedi mind trick whereby Hamas casualty claims are now routinely reported as fact by mainstream media and accepted on their face by many governments. This in turn feeds Hamas daily pushing the envelope. Hamas’ chosen narrative won.
