I recently suggested not pursuing this award. Mea culpa, but @NIHDirector_Jay @NIH buried the lede that the new DP2 significantly increases the per-year amount, from $300k to $475k. That's $875k more over the life of the grant. It means you could hire/do more & bank startup.
Respectfully, I would recommend against applying. Speaking from experience as a DP2 awardee (& Alaskan who knows the reference), the DP2 is a Bridge to Nowhere... (1)
