@Justice_CXN
We are a network of Department of Justice alumni mobilizing to protect DOJ civil servants and preserve the rule of law.
The Senate must reject Emil Bove's nomination to the federal bench. His reprehensible conduct at the Justice Department disqualifies him from a lifetime appointment as a federal judge.
By voting to confirm Emil Bove to a lifetime judicial appointment, senators would be giving their stamp of approval for Bove’s destruction of DOJ and the rule of law over the last 6 months. Thank you to @NPR for inviting us on to discuss what’s at stake. npr.org/2025/07/21/nx-…
As we told @FT, DOJ leadership isn't focused on serving the American people. Instead, they’re “focused on defending POTUS. If there are career employees who are perceived as not furthering that goal, they've been fired." DOJ is a shell of its former self. ft.com/content/09d916…
Civil service protections are intended to keep politics out of law enforcement work. But as Liz Oyer notes, this admin is working to “sabotage the protections in place for nonpolitical civil servants” in order to “install political puppets” throughout DOJ. nytimes.com/2025/07/15/us/…
Closing DOJ’s "Peacemakers Service" doesn’t advance the admin’s alleged priority of backing the blue. Local police rely on these experts to prevent community violence, deescalate unrest, and keep our communities safe. news.bloomberglaw.com/us-law-week/lo…
As Daniel Richman told @nytimes: Trump's message to U.S. attorneys "seems to be that the unitary executive gets to do what it wants, and damn those who interfere." The kowtowing to partisan demands has "reduced the quality of work they do, and the respect they get."…

.@SenThomTillis: Bove *has* condoned violent acts against Capitol Police on January 6. He fired prosecutors and attacked FBI agents who prosecuted those cases, calling their work "a grave national injustice."
TILLIS on BOVE: "Does anybody really believe that if I was convinced Bove had made statements condoning violent acts against Capitol Police officers, that I'd be voting for him? The fact of the matter is, I can't find one piece of evidence where he said the violent acts were ok."
More than 900 former Justice Department employees are urging lawmakers to vote down the nomination of Emil Bove to a seat on the powerful Third Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals. abcnews.link/8MZtaaM

To elevate Emil Bove to a lifetime judicial appointment without fully investigating his disgraceful conduct at DOJ would violate every senator's duty to ensure we remain a nation of laws. nytimes.com/2025/07/16/us/…
Sen. Grassley says he hasn’t seen enough evidence to “substantiate any misconduct by Mr. Bove.” Other DOJ alumni have relevant information to share, and we urge @SenJudiciaryGOP to delay tomorrow's vote to thoroughly investigate.
“It is intolerable to us that anyone who disgraces the Justice Department would be promoted to one of the highest courts in the land,” they wrote to senators. huffpost.com/entry/900-doj-…
