This morning, I woke up early and ran a half marathon distance on Glioblastoma Awareness Day, which my mom battled for 4.5 years. Second straight year running a half on #GBMDay, which I’m hoping to make a tradition in her memory. ❤️ @NBTStweets

Sometimes, you can get so bogged down by the process, it’s important to appreciate the progress. And if I can do it, anyone can do what they put their mind to. I’m hopeful for continued progress over the next year, but know it will only become more challenging from here!

Friday’s 10K race led me to reflect on my running progress over the past year, shaving off more than a minute of my mile pace in the exact same race — 365 days apart. I remember being thrilled by my 10:51 pace last year while this year, finished in 9:45.

Began the Fourth of July with (I believe) a PR in the 10K! Finished in about 60:20 (goal was to beat a 10-minute mile pace with time to spare). And it was seven minutes faster than the exact same race I did last July 4.
