Chaim Grade's latest novel, which I've reviewed in the Atlantic, jams almost too much life into its pages. Not a criticism: the streets of prewar Jewish Eastern Europe also overflowed. Grade’s prose reproduces the way Jews thronged in their tight quarters. (Link in first reply.)

The main student newspaper at Columbia, @ColumbiaSpec, drastically downplayed the violence at the Butler Library takeover in their reporting. The @Sundial_CU corrected the record, and I believe it's worth highlighting. The violence at @Columbia's Butler Library, with videos🧵:
The important thing to note about Project Esther, the latest right-wing Jewish conspiracy to shut down political protest and freedom of expression in the name of antisemitism is...most of the people involved are Christians.

Yesterday the US ambassador to Israel said America will respond to a Houthi attack on Israel only if a US citizen harmed. Today reports Hamas will release the lone American-Israeli among 20-plus hostages still alive. Israeli citizenship was once a security. Now it’s a liability.

Exactly. They have nothing but disrespect for working-class Americans.
Why did those radical extremists attack the young black men who were simply trying to earn a living for their families by working at Columbia?
For shame, @ShabbosK. This is an attribution of collective guilt worthy of BDS, not a thoughtful opponent of antisemitism. Plus I don't believe you. Are you advocating that business leaders eschew Jewish Columbia graduates? Boycott the likes of @LishiBaker? @Eliana_Goldin? And…
As of today, I will never hire any Columbia graduate from the class of 2026 onward. I hope leaders in the business world adopt this policy. The only reform is to bankrupt it, blacklist its students, and cast it into irrelevance. It is of no value to our great country.
theguardian.com/commentisfree/… This is flat-out disinformation. Our Trustees include a tenured faculty and practicing doctor from another school, and multiple hard-science PhDs who by definition have published in scientific journals. Do better, @PollockSheldon and @ArjunAppadurai.
What should we make of miracles? A new book searches for the narrative origins of Jesus’s most wondrous acts, @JudithShulevitz writes: theatlantic.com/magazine/archi…
Good news! BDS is boycotting Columbia. Among the top signatories: National Students for Justice in Palestine, CUAD, WOL. After that: postcolonialist professors and grad students. It's the perfect solution. They go poof! and Columbia gets back to providing an actual education.

“@Columbia should use its endowment to fight Trump!” Great idea: let's liquidate 271 years of institutional capital, get wrecked by hedge funds, and hope alumni Venmo us the difference. A financial reality check no one asked for but desperately need 👇 standcolumbia.org/2025/03/29/iss…
A shocking detail from the Signal affair not widely known (from the Jewish Insider):

Issue #035: @Columbia just announced major policy reforms amid federal pressure. Here's a clear-eyed look from "inside the room" at what happened, what's changed, and the road ahead—without the noise. Worth your time 👇 standcolumbia.org/2025/03/23/iss…
