I'm pleased to share my latest co-authored article in @JEnvPsych, which examines the role of personal experience with tropical disasters in #Florida. See findings below & DL the piece for free here: authors.elsevier.com/c/1kfzIzzKDPycU #climatechange

Why did UF alum just get a message from the Board of Trustees Chair celebrating all of the university’s recent accomplishments while curiously omitting the disastrous presidential situation? #highered
Because I’ve written my elected officials, I’m on a few local GOP politician mailing lists. I have to say, it’s utterly depressing to see the hyperbolic, divisive, & flat out inaccurate rhetoric representatives use to deliberately mislead the public.
Now do oil, corn, and dairy (right?).
This is a big win for taxpayers. We shouldn’t be subsidizing businesses and corporations. Let them survive in the free market just like every other business has to. townhall.com/tipsheet/mattv…
It's wild that someone in the Trump administration is probably going to lose their job over the Epstein list, but it won't be Trump.
In the US, the richest and most powerful country in the world, no matter the disaster, all we have to offer are "thoughts and prayers."
Q: Is there anything that can be done to help these folks? Mike Johnson: In a moment like this we feel just as helpless as everyone does... All we need to do at this moment is pray.🤔
It’ll be interesting to see if all these natural disasters, and the accompanying government responses to them, influence voting behavior in 2026. Here’s some research from earlier this year showing that personal experience with disasters does affect political attitudes.

“A Prince, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free People.” - Declaration of Independence (1776)
"We should encourage people to make tons of money and then also find ways to widely distribute wealth and share the compounding magic of capitalism." This view is not widely shared among capitalists. #Happy4thofJuly
I’m not big on identities, but I am extremely proud to be American. This is true every day, but especially today—I firmly believe this is the greatest country ever on Earth. The American miracle stands alone in world history. I believe in techno-capitalism. We should encourage…
The best part of the Big Stupid Bill is that once it starts having disastrous consequences for Americans (who make less than $500k/yr), there will only be one person and one party to blame.
*whispers* Most Americans are in favor of deporting criminals here illegally but they are against the reckless and inhumane treatment of innocent human beings conducted in the name of mass deportation.
Q: What does an environmental political scientist who does work on #AI read? A:

Crazy how in one day we went from 50 states to 94. Gonna need to update the Stars and Stripes.
It’s official. This year I’ll be serving as the inaugural Faculty Fellow for #AI @UofNorthFlorida! This role is the first of its kind in the #Florida public university system. unf.edu/newsroom/2025/… #highered #AIethics

Actually, it’s only regime change if it comes from the régime region of France. Otherwise, it’s just sparkling interference.
Live shot of a pro-Israel, anti-war Trump supporter:

*cries in renewable energy*
Q: Would you support Iran having civilian nuclear-energy capabilities up to 3.76% enrichment? Trump: They sit on one of the world’s biggest oil reserves. I don’t see why they need nuclear power for anything civilian. 8/
There isn’t enough crow in the world to feed all those idiots who voted for Trump because they thought he wouldn’t bring the US into another war.
