Tshwane is in the worst state of decline I have seen. This past week, I have gathered 18 articles on service delivery failings. Water, electricity, sewerage, potholes, cable theft, exhausted tired residents. Just putting this together was tiring. All from the last 7 days.

ActionSA MMC Kholofelo Morodi must account for why she gave Iranian officials a tour of the Tshwane City Hall and entertained such a bizarre proposal. R170 million worth of damage done to this place under the ANC and this is the best thinking they have. Braindead.

In Tshwane, the ActionSA/ANC/EFF have just introduced a city cleansing levy under the pretense of cleaning the city, generating R278 million in revenue, but the budget item for actually cleaning the city is only R65 million. It's a pure and simple stealth tax.

After rejecting all department budgets, the MK party accidentally voted for the Appropriation bill. The party’s chief whip Colleen Makhubele says she misunderstood what was being voted on. “I’m a new whip, I’ll make some mistakes.” 4 months later, the budget has finally passed.

The trouble facing SA is that markets have not yet priced in tarrifs, a potential collapse of its relationship with the US or even some form of sanctions. And has the WSJ points out, "a reckoning is coming" and we have no trade presence on the ground in the USA.
It's curious to me, the ANC has welcomed the appointments in Higher Education but een decidedly quiet on having the previous minister appear before their ethics committee. Surely a dismissal from the executive warrants an investigation for bringing the party into disrepute?

No coalition agreement or no working committee that allows meaningful ventalitating of issues. Perfect environment for the DA. Keeps its brand distinguished and protected from the ANC in the GNU, while then using its majority to block votes, results in a Minister fired.
On Wednesday is the vote on the Appropriations Bill, which divides funds across government. The DA said they would vote against the budget of Higher Education so long as the Minister was there. Doing so would prevent the Appropriations Bill from passing, looks like someone caved

If the ANC had created a conducive coalition environment, a working committee that addresses issues raised my partners in a fair and transparent manner than the DA could raise the issue of Jonas' non-trade envoy deployment there. But no such committee exists.............oh well.
