Schlittler's second career start can't be the priority here. The plan needed to be Rodon pitching first game out of break the second Fried had a blister. To put themselves in this spot is embarrassing.
No it doesn’t. Fried and Schlittler will likely pitch the second and third games in Toronto due to their injuries. If Rodon pitched last night he’d need to pitch the third in Toronto
Pitching the first game out of break vs. Atlanta allows you to still pitch vs. T-O-R-O-N-T-O!! The fourth-place team in the American League can't afford to be punting the first game out of the break. Plan accordingly.

That's sort of my point. Why not get him lined up for first game out of the break knowing Fried was dealing with the blister? Then he pitches in each of first two series. Who was the AL All Star manager! lol
once you pitch in the all star game you aren't going to find a pitcher who starts that first game back

The Giants rookies report to training camp today. Will spend a week as sort of an orientation/soft launch before veterans join. Vets report to training camp next Tuesday, July 22. Then the full grind begins.
