Our RCT published today in @AnnalsofIM found #vaping is THREE TIMES more effective than NRT in disadvantaged smokers (n=1045) After 6m ➡️28.4% of the vaping group had quit vs ➡️9.6% in the NRT group (continuous abstinence, CO verified) More ⤵️ colinmendelsohn.com.au/NVPs @clive_bates
A large randomized clinical trial (n=1045) in Australia found that ECIGS produce a significantly higher cigarette abstinence rate at 7 months (28.4%) than nicotine replacement therapy (9.6%) in low-income smokers. This is consistent with prior trials. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/40658956/
From my car window in Hershey, PA this morning. Glad it's tied down.

"Regarding these specific products, the applicant submitted robust data—including a two-year longitudinal cohort study—demonstrating high rates of adults completely switching from cigarettes to either the tobacco- or menthol-flavored JUUL products." fda.gov/tobacco-produc…
So proud to be part of the team that got us to this moment. Congratulations and thank you to all involved!
Exciting day for making cigarettes obsolete in America. FDA has issued marketing granted orders for the JUUL System, recognizing these products as "appropriate for the protection of public health." Over 2 million adults have switched completely from deadly cigarettes using JUUL…
Ever wonder when ecigs first became widely available in USA? 2007 is the year they first appeared but 2010 was the first year that "ever use" went above 1% of the population and when almost a third had heard of them. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/22034071/

Simple explanation of who pays tariffs. When Trump says "we've brought in Billions in tariffs", as if it was paid by foreign governments, he is actually admitting how much more taxes (tariff=import tax) are being paid by US companies and individuals. g.co/kgs/JpEJNMW
Put another way, we've raised taxes on Americans by $106.1 billion dollars.
🇺🇸As of the 1st of July, our country has brought in $106.1 billion in tariff revenue. We’re just getting started.

Trump on Powell: “I was surprised he was appointed” (Trump appointed him)
Guess who pays the tarrifs? It's either the US customer (as in this example), or the US business importing the product. It is an import TAX on US companies and people.
Although the Gallup polls are not as large as the NHIS survey (US adult cigarette smoking fell below 10% in 2024), this article based on Gallup data provides a very revealing summary of changes in adult nicotine product use and misperceptions in USA. news.gallup.com/poll/648521/ci…
Coinciding with 2024 being the first year in living memory in which <10% of US adults smoke cigarettes, the last quarter of 2024 was also the first quarter in which >8% of US adults used electronic cigarettes. wwwn.cdc.gov/NHISDataQueryT…
