Very happy to share our new paper now on @medrxivpreprint: “Genetic risk effects act in sets”, a great effort led my PhD student @JolienRietkerk, and performed together with collaborators @andywdahl, @AndrewSchork, @jonathan_flint1 etc. Thread 1/n
Excited to talk about my work today in the symposium at 3pm in Summit 2 #wcpg2024!
Good morning #WCPG2024!☀️today is an exciting day: we @AndrewSchork @jonathan_flint1 have a symposium on heterogeneity and comorbidity at 3pm (Summit 2) and my student @JolienRietkerk is presenting her work on genetic architecture of psych comorbidity phenotypes - join us there!
Had a wonderful time at dinner yesterday. So proud of how far everyone has come already and looking forward to see all our outputs very soon! ♥️
Lab dinner last night 😁 we are welcoming two new members @diyazheng_ (postdoc) and Ayshan (PhD), and celebrating old members finishing PhDs this year and in paper/thesis writing mode🔥@Lianyun_Huang @JolienRietkerk @SimonWengert @Xenofon_G thank you all for everything! 🫶
Had a wonderful time with everyone at #BGA2024 last week. Thanks to the organisers for giving me the chance to present, and thanks to all attendees for the warm welcome and inspiring discussions!

Proud of my colleague @Lianyun_Huang presenting her poster today at #BGA2024!
@Lianyun_Huang has a poster today in Poster Session II (P2.05) on her latest published work on differences in the genetics of MDD symptoms when they are assessed in clinically-enriched vs general population, using different instruments. Her publication: tinyurl.com/msuwjvwx
Very excited to present my work today at #BGA2024!
@JolienRietkerk has a talk this afternoon in the session Lightning-6A: Methods I, on using polygenic methods to assess the genetic architecture of psychiatric disorder comorbidity - this is work in collaboration with @andywdahl, using data from iPSYCH @AndrewSchork
Very excited to be presenting my work at the #BIOENG24 tomorrow from 2pm -4pm at poster 25. Come talk to me about genetic architecture of comorbid psychiatric disorders! @HelmholtzMunich @PioneerCampus

🚨Job alert🚨 (please R/T) Recruiting a new Ph.D. student w/ a computational biology background (loosely interpreted) for a project at the intersection of #MachineLearning & novel gene therapies. DM for details or send your CV to [email protected] #NeurIPS2023
Very proud of my capable colleagues! Congratulations to @Lianyun_Huang !
My student @Lianyun_Huang’s first first-author paper came online pre-proof in @BiologicalPsyc1! 🎉 (Open access to come) She compared the genetics of current MDD symptoms assessed through PHQ9 and lifetime symptoms assessed through CIDI-SF, and found meaningful differences.
MUDS is an excellent #PhD program with great courses and a fantastic community, highly recommended! We’re part of this and recruiting this year together with @fpcasale, projects incl disease trajectory modelling and spatialseq analysis. Qns welcome, please DM/email, and apply!
🎓 It's #PhD application season again! 🎓 🥳 Don't miss your chance to become part of the MUDS community and profit from a thriving environment for young scientists 🤓 APPLY NOW at our Munich School for #DataScience 👉 bit.ly/-apply-MUDS
Excited to share our latest work at #ASHG23 poster PB4102 today! Come talk to me about psychiatric disorder heterogeneity and Coordinated Epistasis!
