Here's an interesting question. The Queensferry Road is now 30 mph, but there are road markings that state it's 40 mph. So can you do 40 if the road markings say the speed limit is 40 mph?

Just driven along Minto Street (Edinburgh) - what a mess. It's hard to make out the lanes, because the markings have faded. Old bus lanes with different coloured surface appear to be half bike lanes and half road - then they disappear. CEC - making a mess of the city.

Previous planners had the foresight to create dual carriageways in the 60s and 70s, to deal with the future increase in traffic. Today's planners are reducing the available road space, creating more congestion. Traffic flowed better after the bus lanes were removed.

Measurements of nitrogen dioxide in GLASGOW. There was a huge drop between 2019 and 2020. This was Covid, not the LEZ. NO2 has been falling year-on-year at all sites, except Anderston (a primary school), where it has increased since 2020 And Roadside Hope Street (buses/taxis).

This may result in a significant reduction in air pollution in the vicinity of the docks in Aberdeen. It has to be better running massive diesel engines when the ships are berthed.

Passive Diffusion Tube measurements for 2024 have not been published. Some of these figures are already 18 months out-of-date. These figures should be available because the local authority air quality reports should have been published at the end of June.
