Good morning! I'm in Uganda to visit family and friends. But depending on your perspective, don't worry or I'm sorry: I'll be back by the end of the month. See you soon, NYC.
This took me back to Kassanda Ebola survivors I talked to a few months ago, and they shared the significant mental health challenges they faced due to their hospital experiences, discrimination, and similar issues.
Tomorrow, my newsletter will look at a study published in PLOS Mental Health that found #Ebola survivors of #Uganda’s 2022 outbreak face a second epidemic: psychological trauma, stigma, and neglect. open.substack.com/pub/54science/…

Fellow Ugandans, especially the Bazzukulu. Greetings. It is with great sorrow that I learnt of the death of our friend Prof. Kanyeihaamba. I remember first meeting Professor Kanyeihaamba, I think, at the historic debate between Prof. Mazrui and Dr. Rodney at Makerere University.…

Why do you want to hold a billion dollar worth company on the same standard as Uganda’s one million shilling companies?
There is not a single public organization in Uganda that is as bold and holds its leaders accountable to this level. Yet, we then complain about having poor leaders, despite having cultivated a culture that enables abuse of authority to persist within leadership positions.
