Tonight we honored our purple heart recipient veterans. These soldiers are the living proof of why America celebrates the freedoms that we do. It was extremely inspiring to honor and pay our respects to these heroes.

Last week our first responders had the opportunity to do some “large crowd” training exercises. The coordination and teamwork was incredible. These men and women work hard to “stay ready” so they don’t have to “get ready”. Thanks to the over 80 volunteers who came out!

Tonight I made a motion to deny any increase to the Clay County Utility Tax. The motion was then approved by the commission.. I am proud of the work our commission tonight to dig deep to ensure public safety services are protected while we work to move our county forward.
Tonight I sent a letter to the Clay Electric Board of Trustees in response to their recent communication to members about a potential utility tax. Together, we can make informed decisions that protect the quality of life in Clay County.
