The rule was recently changed. It use to be that you could put a hand down and you were considered a grounded fighter. Now your feet and hands have nothing to do with you being a grounded fighter. A knee on the ground has always made you a grounded fighter

Michael, the point being taken has nothing to do with the where the fight should resume. Whenever a fighter is on bottom and fouls the fighter on top of them the fight should resume in the same place and position it was in when the foul occurred. If the fighter who fouls is in…
I think if a point is taken, position is lost. If it’s only a warning, the fighters go back to the established position. I’m fairly certain I heard @JohnMcCarthyMMA say that in the past.
