John Knopf
@JohnKnopfPhotos
i take photos.
I wanted to put this together for anyone interested in my timeline in Web 3: 1. My first mint on the blockchain on opensea was this image called the “The Alchemist”. I wasn’t sure how to mint so I just dove in head first and created an edition of 100. I sold the first edition
Big thanks to @JohnKnopfPhotos for collecting some art and keeping us zombies alive 🧟♂️☠️ 42/69 editions of "Red Thread II" have now been claimed, 33 remain - 0.0069 each on @manifoldxyz via Base👇

Photography has always been the underdog in the art world, and the digital art world is no different. I may be biased, though I believe it is a sleeping giant. Here's a long ass essay why; Forget the idea of everyone with a smart phone is a photographer, they can just take…

Never forget where we came from.
We made history. The first ever Largest NFT Photography event history. Thank you everyone for showing up this whole year! This all started with “still photography will never sell on the blockchain.” Tell us something can’t be done, and watch us change the world. 🖤

Photographers have the strongest community in this space. It’s something I’ve always admired as a non photographer. And something I’ve wanted to emulate for other mediums
This sure felt like one

I’m going to @JohnKnopfPhotos’s upcoming Space. Will you join too? well hello there
One underrated fact about this space is that we're all in it together, and some days that includes being collected by absolute legends. 📸🔥

Absolutely resonate with this. Early days in NFT photography were about persistence and authenticity not bending to trends, but building true value and community. We’re here because we never compromised on what matters the story in each image. The foundation is stronger for it.
In early 2021, photography didn’t have structure in the NFT space because we didn’t even have a seat at the table. There were no platforms for us, no exhibitions, and no clear path for how photographers could succeed on chain. We had to build everything from the ground up. The…
i love to see people talking about photography on the timeline again! negative or not, the fact that it’s being discussed is a step forward. 5 years ago, we weren’t even on the map in this space, platforms denied to see us as artists, now at least we’re being argued about.

This post needs me realize that I have not picked up my camera in a long time that that needs change starting today... thank you @JohnKnopfPhotos for this reminder
It’s not dead. In early 2021, nobody really cared about photography. We were on stages. We were running huge Clubhouse rooms. But we went unnoticed because we weren’t the loudest. We couldn’t even get onto the big Clubhouse stages to talk about art. When NFT NYC came around,…
Photography has always been undervalued, but NFTs give it the recognition it deserves.
If you have 2 minute go to read the amazing John post about…photography As he said “Photography is not dead. It just never had it easy. But it never needed easy. It just needs time.”

My take: Belief is missing. Photography is a skill, taking photos is a task… No amount of money or tools will make your photos believable if there isn’t meaning or purpose behind them. Photography is a historian…. It will all make sense, very soon.
