I was recently nominated for a Lifetime Achievement award for involvement in cricket. I didn’t win the main section. Too ill to be at the presentation.A friend from @CollingbourneCc has just brought it round. Really proud and grateful to be recognised.

50 years ago today I was at Knebworth for Pink Floyd. There’s a fairly dreadful film of the event on YouTube. At 2.23 you can see me stood in the middle of the shot. youtu.be/uOQZUHHJPz8?si…

56 years ago tonight I saw Pink Floyd at the Free Trade Hall, Manchester. It remains the best gig I ever saw. It also the first gig I bootlegged. The tape (a copy) was traded in 1988. Here it is youtu.be/Ia-c5I2CIwU?si…
A final piece of advice from Holly Butcher - written the day before she passed away from cancer at just 27: “It’s a strange thing knowing you’re going to die young. At 26, I thought I had time… To fall in love. Start a family. Grow old. But cancer doesn’t care about plans.…
CCC have had a couple of late drops outs for tomorrow's league games due to babies and injuries. If anyone's free then please get in touch. Games in Hungerford and in Collingbourne Ducis. Thankyou @HCLPlayerLoans @hantscricket @WiltsCricket
Watch the ball hop just before it hits the stump. This is what gives it the leverage to knock the bail off. Had it just rolled against the base of the stump it would’ve probably been unmoved.
Today’s Venue 2025 @WG_RumblePants has been showing us a series of beautiful cricket grounds I’m going to show you every ground I umpire at in 2025. Today I’m back at Avebury for Wiltshire O50s v Hampshire.

Calling any Midlands(ish) based cricketers who fancy a game over the next two weekends. We are short of a few players for Sunday 13th at Fleckney Cricket Club in Leicestershire & Sunday 20th at Norton Lindsey in Warwickshire. Fancy a game - drop us a line :)
These arrived today from @NJBDP . The countdown to Christmas has begun.

Certainly one of the most dramatic cricket pictures I’ve ever taken.

When you have your colon out you are encouraged to give the stoma a name. I named it Waitrose, because it’s a bag for life. I’m delighted to announce that I’ve just been on my first visit to the self-checkout for nearly 48 hours. #colostomybag #colostomyuk

Here I go again. Started with abdominal pain. Pains got stronger. Been sick three times. They think it’s a blockage caused by lesions from my last surgery.

50 years ago today, on 2 June 1975 snow stopped play between Lancashire and Derbyshire in Buxton. ❄ Former Manchester Evening News cricket correspondent Colin Evans was present to witness an extraordinary match. ⤵ 🌹 #RedRoseTogether
Did @vernonkay tell Donald Trump to F**k Off on live radio 😂? I hope so.
Today’s my stoma’s 2nd birthday. I’ve changed my bag around 365 times. Emptied it 3,650 times. Had moments of ‘bag malfunction’. Been back into hospital for surgery. Has it been worth it? Absolutely. Thanks all the IBD, Stoma teams, surgeons, nurses, catering staff & all the NHS.
I’ve just heard of the passing of Caspar, the white lion who lived at The Wild Heart Trust on the IoW. He was a beautiful lion. Everyone who saw him was in awe. This is a picture I took of him in 2013 when making the film, Charlotte’s Zoo. youtu.be/nFq8MAZ-d3Q?fe…

A trip to @Watercress_Line to see 35005 Canadian Pacific. A beautiful engine.

Today’s Venue 2025 @WG_RumblePants has been showing us a series of beautiful cricket grounds I’m going to show you every ground I umpire at in 2025. Today’s venue is Lord Wandsworth College, Johnny Wilkinson’s Alma mater, for an U18 Girls cup game v Hampshire.
