Logue Lab
@JeremyLogue1
Our aim is to determine the molecular mechanisms by which tissue confinement controls cell behavior, particularly as it relates to the progression of cancer.
Sharing out latest review with @AlexaCarusoMS, "the biophysics of cell motility through mechanochemically challenging environments," out today in Current Opinion in Cell Biology: sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
Happy to share our new pre-print, "Targeting Cholesterol-Dependent Piezo1 Activation Impairs Amoeboid Migration in Melanoma Cells," led by our fabulous research technician, Sylvia Kuang. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
Have you seen the latest #openaccess review #article from Jeremy Logue's lab @JeremyLogue1 in #CYTOSKELETON? Have a look at it here: "Nucleating amoeboid cancer cell motility with Diaphanous related formins" onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.10…
Happy to share our latest research article, "The activation of INF2 by Piezo1/Ca2+ is required for mesenchymal-to-amoeboid transition in confined environments," in Current Biology: authors.elsevier.com/a/1koXe3QW8SA2… Graphical abstract:

Corning now offers sterile tips that come in a paper container, thus generating less plastic waste!
Sharing our recent review on the role of Diaphanous related formins in regulating the amoeboid migration of cancer cells: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.10…
My wife and I had the pleasure of attending the Gala of Hope (@AmericanCancer) this last weekend, such an amazing event benefiting cancer research

We've added important new data to our recent pre-print (biorxiv.org/content/10.110…). While cells in confinement without INF2 firmly adhere to the micropattern, cells with INF2 will cross over the micropatterns using fast amoeboid (leader bleb-based) migration:
During the tail end of her PhD in the lab, Maria Ullo (@mariaullo) showed that THP-1 monocyte-like cells adopt an amoeboid mode of migration in confining channels, which requires cofilin-1: biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
Happy to share our newest pre-print, we demonstrate that Piezo1/Ca2+ activates INF2 to induce de-adhesion and amoeboid migration in confined environments: biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
A gene therapy was approved today by the FDA for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy: fda.gov/news-events/pr…
Congratulations to Alexa (non-Twitter) on her successful MS defense. Soon to be our new Research Associate/Lab Manager, we're lucky to have you! @AlbanyMed

Thank you News 10 for spreading the word (@WTEN). news10.com/news/science/a…
Today, we received an NOA for our MIRA (R35), thank you NIGMS (@NIGMS) for supporting our work. Looking forward to what we will learn about cancer and immune cell migration in confined environments over the next few years (@AlbanyMed).
Lab alumnus, Dr. Maria Ullo (@mariaullo), represented the graduate school with a fantastic speech at commencement this year.

Analyze_Blebs, our image analysis tool is now published: journals.plos.org/plosone/articl… The tool can be downloaded from GitHub: github.com/karlvosatka/an… Amazing work from our former Research Technician, Karl Vosatka!
Thrilled to be attending the 2022 Melanoma Research Alliance (@MelanomaReAlli) Retreat. Truly an amazing group of researchers, clinicians, patient advocates, and more.
