“If a child can climb, crawl, roll, jump, and throw with confidence, you’ve given them the base to do anything.” #LTAD D.M. me for info on Youth athletic development course.
No point of being a top youth if you are sacrificing the long term athletic development of the kid! Gotta build a strong foundation. Let the kids hit puberty, get strong, and find something they love and want to pursue if you are trying to be one of the best in the world.
What's missing from young athletes' lives these days? it's the fun stuff, it's the easy stuff, it's the stuff they used to do a long time ago but somehow got forgotten when everyone's driving to practice every night or playing intournaments all weekend... It's the riding bikes…
PSA: If your child’s elite youth sports schedule detracts from them accruing large amounts of time engaging in the items listed in the quoted post below, there is an almost zero percent chance they are going to get to where you are trying to push them.

Aiden Green (‘26 MA) flashing a solid traditional CB and a quick arm. FB getting up to 88, settling in around 84-86, strikeout stuff is clear. He has 6 through 3 IP. @PG_Scouting @PG_Uncommitted #NEWS
Obstacle courses go far beyond: "just letting kids play" It's unfortunate that we don't have more forward thinking and creative coaches working with young athletes. Often times I see little kids doing little adult training instead! Obstacle courses are a great choice when…
" young athletes need to be sprinting" Yup they sure do... But before a sprinting session, do this: 1. Balance on 1 foot 30 sec each side 2. Monster walk (lunge) for 10 yds 3. Snail 🐌 on a bear 🐻 (bear crawl slowly) 10 yds 4. Hop on 1 foot forwards for 10yds 5. Somersault 5…
arents and coaches of youth athletes... Before worrying about sport specific lessons, a speed training coach or an organized strength and conditioning program take a quick assessment and figure out...can my young athlete do these things: Can you skip in a straight line and in…
Movement skills: Young athletes should be exposed to and be proficient in as many movement skills as possible to build the biggest base of athleticism as possible. But some of you think teaching back squats for a 10 year old develops elite athleticism... 🤣🤣🤣 March Skip Run…
Jeremy’s posts is the whole inspiration behind this station activity during #MayThe4thBeWithYou week. I plan to incorporate MANY more of these types of activities this year. This station was the student’s favorite. #physed
Fit dad's, your kids don't want to do your lastest WOD, plenty of time for that down the road. Right now, they want to run, jump, climb, and roll. Give them what they want now, and they'll have a love of movement for a lifetime...
"Imagine if every young athlete focused on athletic development instead of specializing in just one sport." #LTAD
Parents, THIS is what your child's "training" should look like. It is the pure Fun of the mind moving the body in creative ways. It is the pathway to embodied learning that repays them for a lifetime. It is the enabling platform for later sporting success for those who seek it.

10 year old training should look much different than 20 year old training...that's what long term athletic development is all about. Giving the athlete what's developmentally appropriate. #LTAD
