"In this world goodness is destined to be defeated. But a man must go down fighting. That is the victory. To do anything less is to be less than a man."
I don't know why I write stupid things. I don't know why I'm compelled to do something that I'm no good at. Why this waste of time and effort. Time better spent staring out at the ocean and counting the waves against the years of my life. And when I look in the faces of people I…

The first real western I showed to my sons when they were around 12 & 10 was Clint Eastwood's UNFORGIVEN and I think that was a strong choice. Great story, great cast, great filmmaking. A powerful interrogation of the myth of the West that becomes mythic itself.
This is shocking and heartbreaking. Like many here, I never met Jane in person, but she wrote some wonderful reviews @cworldreport, and we corresponded a bit via email and X. She was a humble, witty lady and a brilliant poet who loved God, Christ, and the Church. May God grant…
The great poet @NorthDakotaJane has passed from this present life. She was like fire. “Love like a conflagration shall be yours now; love like an April river, like a temblor; love like an avalanche, a midnight bomb-blast, finding you hidden…” — Jane Greer Requiescat in pace.

Sad news. Jane was a wonderful presence and a champion of the upper Midwest. She will be missed. It's a terrible state of affairs that we have these connections online but often don't fully appreciate or *know* people as "IRL" and are left with holes. I do so appreciate people…
Oh gosh, I'm sorry to hear this. I had enjoyed her posts here, and getting to know her poems. My condolences.
I tend not to read other movie critics but amazing that critics are knocking EDDINGTON because it mocks the Left (as well as the Right)
This is such good news! I got to sit down with Hendrix to talk about this amazing book before it came out...and now it's going to be a MOVIE!?! You have to read this - it's beautiful!

Here I travel through this land. Time meant for my feet to carry me to a destination beyond the dusk and shifting winds and shadows cast long on a searching soul. Time with no end, no beginning, and every secret. And here, only the stars can see what the night keeps hidden.
