In the LDS Church, keeping pedophiles secrets is more important than protecting children. Why would you take your child to a church that knowingly puts kids in danger, with unreported “secret pedophiles” in the ward?

My LDS mom asks why I didn’t tell her as a child that I was being SA’d. I don’t have the heart to tell her… I never felt safe to tell her anything. My LDS family was so focused on appearing perfect, that I hid everything “imperfect”, to escape criticism & feel acceptable. ⬇️

An LDS Stake Pres told a woman to write a DETAILED essay abt breaking the law of chastity, then had her read it to him &... said he needed to keep it. She complied. 😬 She now asks, “Was that normal?” Don’t tell me the LDS Church doesn’t normalize grooming & destroy boundaries.

You might be Mormon if when your child tells you they’ve been sexually assaulted… Your first instinct is to shame & blame them & force them to go see a middle-aged Bishop with zero training in handling sexual assault. The LDS Church & its culture is toxic for SA survivors.

How many of the LDS victims felt immediately that something was wrong… But they discounted their own experience b/c he was a discerned, worthy, trusted Priesthood-holder? Most of the victims came forward after Broadbent was publicly called out by 1 victim on Mormon Stories.
