Went out into the woods to find some copper mines from the mid 1800’s. According to old writings, many of these were sunk on ancient copper mine pits. Check out my new video documenting my journey! youtu.be/rRkwAEoPzSo?si…

The San Francisco call (San Francisco [Calif.]), March 26, 1909
These copper mines began operation in the winter of 1854 north of Lake Gogebic. 3 considerable shafts were sunk in to the base of a ridge at a 45° for about 100 feet. It is believed that one reason for choosing this site to mine was nearby ancient copper culture pits

Drove over 400 miles around central Wisconsin and visited 5 Indian Mound sites. Come join me as I explore these complexes in my new video youtu.be/e51TuGNqg7c

Big video coming out today at 8am on my channel. Keep an eye out here for the link. Hope you all enjoy!
Probably my favorite stop today was Cranberry Creek Mound group. Multiple mounds along the river, nice walking trail, peaceful area. Besides the mosquitos and ticks, that is. I will be working on a video this week to show a more detailed look at all 5 sites I visited today

Kingsley Bend Indian mounds in Wisconsin Dells was quite a surprise. Much bigger conical mounds and large effigy mounds. The largest mound was on top of a hill overlooking a valley on one side and overlooked the whole complex
