No longer political. I’m just a dude with some opinions about stuff. 🇺🇸
Day 67 no alcohol. I took a tour of West Point today. “Choose the harder right instead of the easier wrong” Place has a great code for an alcoholic. Had me thinking all day about it. It’s really not complicated to do the right thing. It’s just usually more difficult.

Imagine hatin on me… And I’m just over here like this.

Apparently I missed an exit and instead of going through Manhattan the drive looked more like this. Had I known there was a choice I’d have gone this way intentionally. I’ll consider that a win.

About to drive through Manhattan. I don’t even have a pistol. Damn…
Elon basically opened the diner from back to the future 2 with some charging stations attached. That shit was set in 2015. I’m not impressed.
One thing I noticed in that whole Grok “the chain pulls you in” disaster was that there are a lot of seemingly legitimate accounts I don’t know. I could tell by the friendly banter many seemed cool, but then they were all gone as quickly as they arrived. Vanished into the void.
Day 66 no alcohol. Spent most of the day at the AirPower museum and the rest at Jones Beach. I thought sitting on the beach would be awkward and make me want to drink. That was not actually the case, I enjoyed watching my kids play. I kinda had a beer with lunch though. 😬

Jones Beach is pretty legit. I would probably be here all the time if I lived around Long Island. Nice cheap family outing.

Maybe my favorite thing so far about Long Island. And it’s completely free.
Checked out this Air museum in Long Island. I think I enjoyed the tour more than the kids. They have some pretty cool planes, including one of my personal favorites 👇🏻

This guy outside the Mets stadium trained his dog to shake hands and take pictures with people for money. He sits over and watches from like 20 feet away. When you put a dollar in the jar the dog shakes your hand. Brilliant. 💰

Day 65 no alcohol. One thing I will give to New York is pizza, it is far superior here I’ll admit it. I’ve noticed that when I used to do things, it would revolve around drinking. I’d go to a game and get some beers. Go to a restaurant try some whiskey. Go to an event try…

We stumbled across this car show in downtown Oyster Bay. A lot of cool cars, got some banging ice cream. Seems like a nice place.

We had a plan not really work out so the Wife and I drove into Long Island a bit. Everything is closed on Tuesday it seems and we didn’t know where to go. Somehow we ended up sitting on Theodore Roosevelt’s porch. It’s nice.

I’m not much of a doobage fanatic these days. But did I have to check out a fully legal dispensary while in new York? Cmon now how could I not?
Changed my profile photo to blend in with New Yorkers. I nailed it didn’t I? No one will suspect I’m a Texan.
This was at around 11 P.M last night in Manhattan. They tell me it’s like that 24/7. That’s crazy.

Day 64 no alcohol. It’s my Son’s 10th birthday today. We got him a trip to New York basically. Had a fancy lunch, now he’s at his first Mets game. Afterwards we got him a cake so he has had a pretty successful day. I think it’s his first birthday I’ve been completely sober.

We tried out Peter Luger, I’ve actually heard of this place so I was surprised it was so close to where I’m staying. A little pricey but definitely a great experience. Steak was excellent.

My 7 year old niece just came into the room I’m staying in and saw some sour gummy bears on the nightstand. She said “Candy in your room huh?…..hmmm interesting…”. Should I die from the shame of judgement or invest in a lockbox. 🤔
