Pirms 10 minūtēm visai interesanta un samērā reta kombinācija - sudrabainie mākoņi un ziemeļblāzma. Viena sezona noslēdzas, cita sākas... FYI: @MetJam_ @chunder10 @JAtanackov NLCs and faint aurora visible from Latvia (56.5°N, 23.7°E) ~21.40 UTC
Omitting the impact on mental health and family cohesiveness from the Treasury’s assessment of this policy is a critical failure in the legislative process. Ignoring those aspects when the risks have been repeatedly stressed by professionals, industry bodies and politicians…
A stunning claim from the Treasury’s Family Farm Tax impact assessment. They say it will have “no significant impact” on family life. Have the treasury spoken to a single farmer? It is already causing a huge amount of stress and anxiety amongst our hardworking farming families
It’s almost as if these words from @hmtreasury - which will have been through numerous drafts and committees staffed by taxpayer-funded and generously-pensioned and therefore financially secure staff - are deliberately designed to wind up so many of the UK’s dedicated and hardy…

Absolute rubbish @SteveReedMP You slashed the delinked payments last year by 76 % and have capped this years payment at £600. The SFI is now a shadow of its former self to new applicants, taxed pick up trucks and fertiliser, increased NI, got rid of the market for 2m tons of…
'This government is supporting farmers with more investment' 'You broke a pledge to them!' Katherine Forster asks Steve Reed about what the NFU has called farmers' 'torment with worry' due to government policy.
Bright Noctilucent clouds over Eastern Russia tonight. Not sure whats happened to them over Europe recently as activity has seriously reduced on the MAARSY radar over the last few days.

In other words we will offshore our food production. We will buy from countries where the farmers pay less or no IHT and give them a competitive advantage. So basically fuck our own farmers, we are so determined to have a supposed ideological win that UK business can suffer.
Impressive !

Agricultural and Business Property Relief Reforms aka The Family Farm Tax draft legislation. 👇 Summary: They haven’t listened but have doubled down and basically don’t care because they can just import food to keep prices low. I kid you not. Link in embedded post.

While watching an active Thunderstorm to my north east from Bishopbridge, I spotted a funnel cloud at around 17:20BST to the east. I would guess its somewhere near Ludford @TorroUK 🌪️

🚨Wow! 🚨 The Family Farm Tax is not expected to have a material effect on food prices because… we can just import it from elsewhere. I have just skim read the draft document and I can’t conclude that they’ve listened at all… 👀🫣

What a Beautiful perspective they’ve got up there! Love it!
Hello Milan! If you guys haven’t seen the lightning sequence @AstroAnnimal posted a couple weeks ago, you should go check it out! Shots like these take quite a bit of planning and timing. This video is a sequence of still pictures taken at 120 frames per second. We have such a…
This and @itvnews pretending hot weather is causing increase’s in food prices needs taking apart. Grains have never been cheaper. Food prices pushed up by hot weather hitting harvest yields, say UK retailers | Food & drink industry | The Guardian theguardian.com/business/2025/…
Still no aurora in Denmark at 57°N, but a good night for noctilucent clouds. At least astronomical twilight has returned, so maybe next week? Can someone poke the Sun please?
I know clear sky might be hard to come by, but Nocs showing up nicely on Baltic cams currently. @chunder10 @paulhaworth @cassidy_rachel @MetJam_ @simon_weather @Jacksweatherch1
There is a point that comes for business owners. Where you’re so fed up with the stress, hassle, and tax that you stop coming in on Saturday and decide to spend more time with the family instead. You don’t hire another employee and instead say no to that new client. Where you…
Business owners: literally just trying to stay open Starmer: Have you tried… more tax?
✨🎥 A week after midsummer, in the middle of a heatwave, I headed up to the wonderfully wild coastline at Holme next the Sea in Norfolk for a relaxed night of astrophotography. My new cinematic nightscape adventure is out now. Link in comments. 👇
Another textbook explosive demolition at West Burton. This morning we brought down the turbine hall and DA bay with controlled explosives following months of meticulous preparation.
The noctilucent clouds were out again tonight. Midnight 16th/17th July 2025 St. Mary's Lighthouse, North Tyneside
