The claim by Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene, that protesters in Kyiv and other cities want Zelensky to make a peace deal with Russia, is false. These protests are against a bill signed into law by Zelensky which critics say weakens Ukraine's anti-corruption authorities.
Huge protests erupt in Kyiv against Ukrainian President Zelensky as he is a dictator and refuses to make a peace deal and end the war. Good for the Ukrainian people! Throw him out of office! And America must STOP funding and sending weapons!!!
Ukraine’s parliament has decisively passed a law that puts the country’s two independent anti-corruption bodies under direct government oversight. Zelensky says it’s to rid them of Russian influence, but there’ve been demonstrations across cities, & here’s what the EU thinks…
Seriously concerned over today’s vote in the Rada. The dismantling of key safeguards protecting NABU’s independence is a serious step back. Independent bodies like NABU & SAPO, are essential for 🇺🇦’s EU path. Rule of Law remains in the very center of EU accession negotiations.

On the FT's report that Trump asked Zelensky if Ukraine could hit Moscow with missiles, White House Press Karoline Leavitt tells the BBC: “The President was merely asking a question, not encouraging further killing. He’s working tirelessly to stop the killing and end this war.”
Donald Trump finally swaps appeasement for strength as he tries to stop Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Billions of dollars’ worth of US air defences, missiles and ammunition will be sent to Ukrainian forces via NATO. It keeps Kyiv in the fight, but will Moscow want to end it?

Before the 7/7 London attacks I worked at a gym in Aylesbury, where I met on of the suicide bombers, Germaine Lindsay. He was quiet, regularly trained, and once challenged me to an arm wrestle. I declined. I’d no inkling he was capable of killing 26 people & injuring 340.
After telling the BBC he “would look at” supplying Ukraine with Patriot Air Defences, Donald Trump has paused some US weapons packages for Kyiv, which include air defences.
A journey driven by the desperation of those making it. UK Ministers promised to “smash the gangs” with small boat crossings to the UK from France, but the first six months of this year saw a record 20,000 make the journey. With🎥 @Ieaguedj @Romyliad & Rihab Latrache
A change of scene for me this summer; working with the BBC Bureau teams across Europe for a few weeks. First stop: the ever-growing number of migrants making the perilous journey across the channel to the UK.

As the world’s gaze shifted to other wars, Russia reportedly launched 5,331 drones at Ukrainian cities, the most in a month. In May, it was 4,003. As American military aid starts to wane, The White House is still refusing to sell more Patriot air defence systems to Kyiv.

In Kyiv there are countless members of the US military and State Department. You wonder what they make of their President warning, without condemnation, that Vladimir Putin “will have to respond” to Ukraine’s drone attack last weekend.

A Ukrainian Trojan horse? Sources in Ukraine’s Security Service say they’ve destroyed more than 40 Russian bombers on four different air bases. According to reports, the drones were launched from a lorry as the unsuspecting driver refuelled. Appears significant.
BBC Director-General Tim Davie met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv. They discussed the importance of a free media, reporting on the war in Ukraine and the role of the BBC.
Today, I was pleased to welcome the BBC team led by its Director-General Tim Davie to @MFA_Ukraine. I thanked the BBC, its reporters, editors, and, in particular, its Ukrainian team, for their fact-based coverage of Russian aggression against Ukraine, which may involve a lot of…
A level up from “he’s crazy” and “I’m pissed off”. Could “fire” mean sanctions? Or fire? I’m going to bed.

“I don’t like it at all” For Ukraine, a rarity: Donald Trump again threatening more sanctions for Russia. But will they follow? 🎥 @OzzyMozzy68 @thewhirlinzim Olga Papash
