This PRX article by Huang, Balram, ... Zhu addresses the question: How do two-component fractional quantum Hall states evolve when the interaction is not isotropic? It shows that some states are more robust than others. journals.aps.org/prx/abstract/1…

No Indian business has contributed more funding to science in the last decades than Infosys.
It was a real privilege to have a memorable and deeply engaging conversation with Narayana Murthy—a visionary, philanthropist, and living legend—about scientific research in India. I'm grateful for his unique perspective, wisdom, and inspiration.
"Superconducting," metallic, and crystalline states of composite fermions are all competitive at 1/6 filling in wide quantum wells, where evidence for FQHE has been seen in journals.aps.org/prl/abstract/1…. Among the many possible "superconducting" states, the f-wave paired state is…

Making Quantum Connections at @ictstifr and Burma Burma with Ashoke Sen, Sumathi Rao, Deepak Dhar, Spenta Wadia, Rajesh Gopakumar, @kvijayraghavan, Gautam Mandal, Subhro Bhattacharjee, Abhishek Dhar, Sthitadhi Roy, and many other colleagues and students!

A magical day @vatsalyajaipur with @HiteshG23 , @Kartikey_Jaipur , @YKVijay1953 and many other wonderful folks. Groundbreaking of their new Science Centre.

Join us @RRI_Bangalore for the 10th Pancharatnam Lecture by Prof. @Jain_Physics , @penn_state on 'A Strange New Universe: Where Bizzare Quantum Particles Rule'! 📅 : Thursday, 10 July 2025 at 5 pm @PMOIndia @PrinSciAdvGoI @IndiaDST @DrJitendraSingh @karandi65 @TarunSouradeep
Had tea at ख़राब चाय की दुकान in Indore. One more thing off my bucket list !!

With friends and colleagues at @IISERPune and @IiserMohali.

Grateful to @IISERMohali for the kind hospitality! The insightful questions, lively discussions, and interactions with bright students and colleagues made it a thoroughly enjoyable visit.
What an inspiring colloquium by Prof. Jainendra K. Jain today! He opened the doors to the strange new universe of composite fermions. Truly amazing! @Jain_Physics
We are pleased that Professor Jainendra Jain, an eminent Physicist and a Wolf Laureate 2025, will be delivering a colloquium at IISER Mohali. Here are the details Title: "A Strange New Universe: Where Bizarre Quantum Particles Rule" 📆July 01, 2025 (Tuesday) ⏱️4:00 PM 📍LH 7
Tomorrow we leave for India! In may, waiting to board the plane to India, I was advised to cancel because of the situation with the neighbor. Then my plan to go to Jerusalem on to India was canceled due to the war in the Middle East. Hope the third time is the charm.
Can't wait to be in Jerusalem with my wife for the @WolfPrize_ ceremony, and at the Weizmann Institute for a symposium! It will be our first visit there. Then onward to India! Look forward to seeing family and friends.

Rajesh Gopakumar is the Director of @ictstifr, a major centre for theoretical sciences and a part of @TIFRScience. Here: youtu.be/YhxIak3-b9U?si… is an excellent interview on SparX, a podcast that @mukeshbansal06 hosts. Rajesh's story, growing up in Kolkata, reading maths and…
Today, I complete 15 years as a faculty member at #IISERPune. I have attempted to put together a list (based on my blogs) of some lessons that I have learnt so far. A disclaimer to note is that this list is by no means a comprehensive one, but a text of self-reflection from my…
One won the Nobel Prize and the other two the Wolf Prize. What are the odds!! It's hard to get to your Science Education Center, but I always love going there and meeting the young and curious students.
Amazing coincidence!! @francesarnold, @Jain_physics and Pamela @bjorkmanlab have been family friends, visitors and generous donors of our @vatsalyajaipur science education center.
Neat paper by graduate student Aamir Makki on what photoluminescence can tell us about fractional quantum Hall effect, and about excitons and trions. Puzzles remain. arxiv.org/abs/2505.01577
