Techno-fabulsim: The belief that massive technological change is imminent and will solve all of our problems. Political vagrant.

Remember: an AI passing an exam does NOT mean that AI system is as intelligent or knowledgeable as the people passing it. Research debunks this idea. AI labs do like to exaggerate their achievements. Testing AI with human designed tests is a gimmick. arxiv.org/abs/2506.21521
I heard that in the next decade we would have we would have curses for Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and other neurological diseases. That was over 30 years ago. Bookmark this everyone.

This is the trustworthy CEO of OpenAI telling us and he's definitely not talking up his own book. This e/acc account is particularly sycophantic.

Many such cases. For projects past a certain degree of complexity (i.e. not boiler plate) it seems like AI may be a net-negative in terms of overall coding efficiency.
Vibe coded some stuff yesterday. Happily typed in some detailed prompts and off Claude went, building exactly what I asked. Came back to it later and realised I should be implementing it in a much different way, so all the code is redundant. I feel like if I was manually…
The fundamental question not answered by e/acc is why an ASI would care what we want, or even bother to be dangerous to us.

e/acc, help me out here. Doesn't this sound like a crackpot to you?

Everything is alive. Also, nothing is alive. In addition, we cannot define what "alive" is, but LLMs are "alive", and AI is intelligent but at the same time we can't define that either. These people are useless.

Then: Universal abundance, cures for all diseases! Now: "I've made lots of billionaires"
