I see that the internet is loving this new paper, but has the internet read the wonderful opinion on it by my former postdoc Emily King? lnkd.in/gdtfTFcs
Genetic evidence halves the odds of early clinical trial stoppage 🧬💊 Published today in @NatureGenet, @lesya_rzvvsk trained a machine learning classifier to analyse the free-text reasons explaining why 28,842 clinical trials stopped 3 key points: nature.com/articles/s4158…
I was happy to contribute to this paper with my former postdoc Minal. She used text mining and some serious brute force to try to understand how our community is approaching GWAS fine mapping. Your feed back is welcome! sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
Another one in the GTEx saga "PhenomeXcan: Mapping the genome to the phenome through the transcriptome" led by @miltondp and Sheila Padma Rajagopal. Scale-up made possible by fastENLOC development by @WenXqwen. doi.org/10.1101/833210
Emily King is here in the flesh!!!check out her postdoc work. She’ll be there Thursday afternoon ativsoftware.com/appinfo.php?pa… #ASHG19
This paper helps calm my nagging worry that maybe we've all been wrong about genetics and drug success. By looking at a completely new dimension of drug success/failure, they reaffirm the effect we have seen using target-indication pair progression. nature.com/articles/s4158…

There is a position on my new team that just opened! We are looking for a creative and talented data scientist or statistical geneticist to help us use human genetics to drive value in drug development. careers.abbvie.com/en/job/lake-co…
We are building a new bioinformatics team at AbbVie that will work on design and optimization of novel biotherapeutics including rAAV based therapies. Please reach out and apply if you are interested! Here are the job postings: lnkd.in/gwNaTuyt lnkd.in/gsWbfEQn
Psychosocial experiences modulate asthma-associated genes through gene-environment interactions. Now epub in eLife. Lead by PhD student Justyna Resztak elifesciences.org/articles/63852
There's another job opening in my department! Please follow up with me if you are interested or know a good candidate! #hiring #jobs #bioinformatics #abbvie #pharma careers.abbvie.com/abbvie/jobs/21…
I'm excited to see the work from @jkpritch's former students and grand-students at the reunion symposium! Great talk from @HannahMoots on ancestry and relatedness of ancient Mediterranean civilization kicks it off.
How many SNPs do you need to estimate colocalization probabilities? One! Another great paper from Emily King's postdoc. bmcbioinformatics.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.11…
It's great to see the NCAA's enthusiasm for coalescent theory.
I'm looking to hire in the Computational Genomics - "Special Projects" group at AbbVie! The group addresses an an exciting and always changing set of projects and problems. Come join us! careers.abbvie.com/abbvie/jobs/21… @bioinfo44

This is a titanic effort using GTEx data to map genome-wide gene expression in 49 tissues to 4,091 human traits. Incredible resource for precision medicine and drug target discovery. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
Excited to share our latest work on probabilistic TWAS (PTWAS) and multi-tissue TWAS analysis utilizing GTEx v8 data biorxiv.org/content/10.110… Great collaboration with @yuhua_z, Corbin Quick, Alvaro Barbeira, @hakyim, @fluca2406, and @rogerpique. Comments are welcome! 1/n
