Nice overview here. Rent control is an "evidence-based" terrible idea. It is a state sanctioned PUNISHMENT for market investment in developing housing options, the result of which increases housing costs in the long term. Unconstitutional in this case as well as idiotic.

Rent control negatively impacts both renters and landlords - and let’s not forget we’re already experiencing a housing crisis. Here’s to hoping the judge @JacksonMaynard8 argues before today follows the law and the constitution in her ruling. 🇺🇸

Judge Cartwright reserved ruling and asked for supplemental briefing before issuing a decision. The point remains the same: this initiative is unconstitutional, and rent control negatively impacts renters and landlords as well as causes additional strain on the housing market.
