as a fan of platformers, Bananza is one of the best I’ve ever played. BUt, as a fan of Donkey Kong, it’s also one of the best I’ve ever played and so rip-roaringly awesome that I can’t shut the fuck up about it

in retrospect its so funny that we thought that Bananza would be Rare erasure, because OH MAN THIS GAME LOVES THE DONKEY KONG COUNTRY GAMES SO MUCH

actually at a loss for words right now, truly the greatest cinematic trilogy ever

-put on ice for over a decade -"people don't care about DK anymore" -casually releases the best nintendo platformer ever made -cooked so hard they built a theme park for him before the game was even finished DK really is the biggest gigachad in all of gaming

While I’m still cynical about the prospects of a live-action Zelda movie being able to fundamentally work, it could get off to a much worse start than this. Both very young, both relatively unknown, both look the part - basically a best-case scenario for casting!
