After many of you lovely people told me how you say “garage” in a poll, I concluded that it has too many pronunciations to work in a rhyming poem. Which meant, of course, that I had to try.

Loved this brilliant collection of children’s poems & fascinating facts by @Schaubwrites, with beautiful illustrations by Anne Lambelet. It took me back to past road trips seeing redwoods & ancient bristlecone pines. It’s a book that will surely inspire young readers! #kidlit
Friends, I wrote a piece on poet Laura Gilpin, who died of glioblastoma in 2006. She is best known for “The Two-Headed Calf.” With gratitude to @PoetryFound for letting me try to restore this healthcare practitioner/poet’s legacy. poetryfoundation.org/articles/17056…

This gem by @jodeshoughton in @tygertygermag is a reminder that children's poetry isn't just for children. Facing a daunting task? This poem is for you.
