Comparing that with the cost of retaining all those resigning even if all at max pay point salaries the cost would have been: £409m (£57.8k) So the difference is approx £1.181bn more having to be spent just to replace those leaving let alone the Uplift
Ave per year: 786 over 9 years Service strength without VR’s would be 41,387 2016-21 6 years 3,916 (ave 653) 2022-24 3 years 3,156 (ave 1,052) Cost to replace all those at £75k per year for first 3 years is £530.4m a year…and overall would be in excess of £1.59bn
