A fine report that again calls for bigger & better devolution. This is too big a job for an individual Mayor. This type of devolution needs a regional government, as seen in most successful economies throughout the world. Britain is far too centralised. countycouncilsnetwork.org.uk/new-report-cal…
#YorkshireBylines Excellent article! Strongly agree—Yorkshire deserves real autonomy. Local control will unlock our region's potential, generating far more than invested

Statement on #reform in #Doncaster. This motion to ban the #Yorkshire flag on Doncaster buildings flies against reforms own u turn when they wanted to ban everything but the Union Flag and the St George's Cross earlier in the year. Its abjectly pathetic. @Yorkshire_Party

Still time to vote for @Adam_Allcroft in Stocksbridge and Upper Don for Sheffield Council. He will fight for local services and as a @Yorkshire_Party will fight for more local power and against SW1 dictats about council structure. Sheffield should decide, not Westminster.
A regional parliament is the solution—Liverpool’s new report shows Mayoral deals were flawed from the start, with too little power and funding for local leaders. Real change needs proper resources, authority, and genuine devolution, not just more mayors. miragenews.com/liverpool-repo…
No better day than #RoseWednesday to remind the good people of Stocksbridge and Upper Don that @Adam_Allcroft is your @Yorkshire_Party candidate for the by election in Sheffield. Policy focus below. Let's help social care, dentistry and make sure Liberty Steel is safe.

Back in the days of New Labour his father John Prescott was at the forefront of efforts to close the North-South divide and get the region's leaders to work more closely together. 1/3
The mayoral devolution system is underfunded, overly centralised, and limited by one person's influence. It's token devolution that delivers little. Effective devolution requires robust regional governance with real powers. yorkshirepost.co.uk/news/politics/…
Oliver Coppard must commit to establishing a rail link between Sheffield and Stocksbridge. This was a project initially announced when this £1.5B was first pledged in 2023 by the Conservatives. Anything less would be Labour taking money away from Stocksbridge.
Huge news for South Yorkshire today; £1,500,000,000 is a massive investment in our transport networks. But big numbers often don’t mean much. What this really is, is an investment in connecting people; 1/2
