Frustrating fourth inning for Miami. Arraez punched one against the shift for a one-out single, advances to second on a throwing error by Nick Fortes and then scores on an RBI single by the slumping Machado. All tied at one.
They said these Marlins might not win 50 games all season. They got to 50 before the trade deadline.
The Marlins are teeing off against one of the best teams in the National League. Could be within three games of .500 Five days until the deadline.
Thomas White having a pretty nice start so far... 11 Ks through four.

Not particularly close
Who had the best hat for Hall of Fame weekend?
The Mets are among the teams that have checked in on Sandy Alcantara. The asking price is steep. The Mets haven’t ruled out adding a starting pitcher, but view it as a tough add given the market.
📺 Selling veteran pieces wouldn't necessarily make this Marlins team worse x.com/i/broadcasts/1…
#Marlins moves: RHP Lake Bachar has been placed on the Paternity List. RHP Freddy Tarnok has been recalled from Triple-A Jacksonville
I've checked these numbers four times. Last 50 games for Jacob Berry at Triple-A not including this HR... .301/.404/.464, 16 XBH, 25 BB, 26 K 90% Z-Contact, 22% chase, 33% ground ball in that span. It's not a very valuable profile, but the bat has been good.
ICE IN HIS VEINS!
First professional home run for Andrew Salas. #Marlins | @GoHammerheads
There is no easy answer to the Alcantara enigma. Any prospect package comes with risk. So would the decision to hold onto him past the deadline. What should the Marlins do? dlvr.it/TM5lqK #marlins #miami #marlinsbeisbol
If this was indeed his final home start in a Marlins uniform, Sandy Alcantara reflected on his time in Miami with gratitude. ✍️ @IsaacAzout fishonfirst.com/news-rumors/mi…
Alcantara put together his best start of the season today in what could be his last home outing as a Marlin. My story on Alcantara and more on the deadline below fishonfirst.com/news-rumors/mi…
I asked Sandy how he’d describe his years in Miami if this is in fact his final home start as a Marlin: “I’m just a guy who loved to take advantage of the opportunity. I like to learn and compete and if the fans want to remember me as “El Caballo,” I’ll definitely take that.”
FINAL: Miami 3, San Diego 2 Miami takes 2/3 and Sandy Alcantara turned in his best start of the season in front of 15,137 fans on Camp Day. Off-day tomorrow before a three-game set in Milwaukee against a very hot Brewers team.
Marlins TV broadcast acknowledges the Sandy Alcantara trade rumors. Kyle Sielaff: "If this is it...Seriously, thank you for everything because he has been an amazing steward of this franchise." Tommy Hutton: "Tremendous person. Great representative of the Miami Marlins."
Tip your cap, Caballo. If that's it for Sandy as a Marlin, what a way to end it. 7 IP for the first time this season. 1 R (0 ER), 0 BB. A nice ovation for Alcantara as we walks off the field.
Defensive changes for Miami: - Dane Myers replaces Liam Hicks and is now in center field - Eric Wagaman replaces Graham Pauley and is now at first base - Javier Sanoja moves from center to third
