“After you match, do something you’ve always wanted to do and won’t have time to do for the next 5-7 years” *insert five foster puppies* 🤠

See this among urology applicants as well. Seems like every year the ‘recommended’ # of pubs to apply increases. Hoping the shift for future application cycles moves to quality > quantity 💡
2/5 - dilutes value of meaningful research, which invariably, requires TIME, thoughtfulness AND the right mentorship 🕰️ 💭 - favors students with MD parents, high SES, early exposure (literally have seen HS students tacked on as authors 🤦🏽♂️)
And just like that…..it’s over. Excited to join the @UABUrology team in a few short weeks. Thank you @IrasemaPaster for making our week+1 apprenticeship so enjoyable. Gonna miss you and all the @UAUrology team.
Last case at UA ever for the 🐐 @jfunkmd. HoLEP of course. You will be deeply missed by everyone at @UAUrology! Thank you for everything.

First time in the history of our residency program that our busiest service was run entirely by women 🎀 @UAUrology @AvaADelu @rpalanjian

Once again, my annual retweet before II release day. Don’t be discouraged by what the morning initially brings. It’s going to be a long day full of joy, sadness, and surprises. At the end of the day, just remember that you’re going to be an amazing doctor! #UroMatch #UroRes
On the eve of uro II notifications, I want to wish good luck to all the applicants. I also want to share this picture. These were the first six emails sent to me. 1 II and 5 waitlists, followed by many more waitlists/rejections. Can you guess where I ended up? #UroMatch #UroRes
Come learn about our awesome program tomorrow!! 🌵

Just to reiterate - CISGENDER WOMEN ALSO HAVE TESTOSTERONE.
Women with complete androgen insensitivity syndrome (AIS) have no advantage because their body is not sensitive to androgens. An average XX female has actually quite a bit of testosterone & would have a performance advantage over an XY female with complete AIS. hope that helps
It is nuanced but I believe it has a right answer. For safety someone with AIS, which gives you XY chromosomes, denser bones, and more muscle it’s a problem. It’s not that deep past that. If she has complete AIS she may even have male parts still inside her. It’s just safety.…
Congratulations to @UKYMedicine medical student Lee Kiefer for repeating her gold medal performance in foil fencing in Paris @Olympics!!
Visited my mom for coffee after weekend rounds. This is her new baby. Perks of living near family 🥰

WOOHOO! We matched with Jonathan Seaman, MD, who will be coming to join our GURS fellowship! Welcome, Dr. Seaman! 🎉🎉
It’s happening!! 🥰 @UAUrology Yes, those are my fur babies.

The decision made by the Arizona Supreme Court today is unconscionable and an affront to freedom.
¡Felicidades Von! 👏🏽 First of many to come #adelante
Just published my first review paper as first author! Grateful for the opportunity to lead this project and collaborate with an amazing team. Big thanks to my mentors @JChipMD @IrasemaPaster and all team members for their support! @SOMUAG #Research #Urosome
Hard to believe it’s been 15 years straight of pursuing medicine (since starting undergrad in 2009). Countless times I thought it’d be easier to quit. First in my family in any healthcare field! I’m going to be an anesthesiologist!!! 🥹🥹🥹😭😭😭 #Match2024
