Peter Donde was 10. Born with HIV. Kept alive by a U.S.-funded PEPFAR program—until foreign aid was frozen. Without access to meds, his immunity collapsed. He died in February from a preventable infection. These cuts have life-or-death consequences. nytimes.com/interactive/20…

I’m disappointed that Congress has largely followed the Administration’s lead in rescinding nearly $8 billion in funding they both approved only months ago. Cutting funding for life-saving programs leaves Americans less secure and the world less stable and prosperous.

The rescissions package would mark a significant step back from America’s leadership on global health around the world. We urge the Senate to vote "no" on the rescissions package.

Today, @SenatorShaheen & @SFRCdems released a report detailing the erosion of America's development capacity. It states what our Members have seen around the world for months, that reduced foreign aid pushes other actors to step in. foreign.senate.gov/press/dem/rele…
Arkansans understand that international assistance is a strategic self interest: “International aid programs aren't handouts. They're investments in American security, economic strength and global leadership.” Check out the new op-ed from @robertwcoon in @ArkansasOnline…
